Solid Edge XpresRoute eases the design of routed systems with a comprehensive set of industry-specific design tools to help designers quickly route and model piping, tubing, wiring, and cabling in Solid Edge assemblies. Fully integrated with Solid Edge, XpresRoute utilizes process-specific workflows that match industry best practices.
Streamlined tubing, wiring and piping design
Specialized modeling aids enable designers to rapidly define a 3D tube, wire, or piping path for routed components to follow and a solid model of the routed system is created along the path to create an accurate virtual mockup. For piping systems, 3D pipes, fittings and components are automatically positioned and correctly oriented upon population. For wiring, the designer can select different connect points on the path segments to define single wires, cables (multiple wires making up a single cable, such as with coaxial), and trunk wires (independent wires that merge into common segments). All components are fully associative and update with the parts to which they are connected. When the assembly model is modified, pipes, tubes and wires automatically adapt to design changes.
Accurate Reporting
Solid Edge XpresRoute automatically creates detailed reports, bills-of-materials and other valuable purchasing and manufacturing information. Tube bend tables can be used directly by bending machines. Wiring reports include wire lengths, attributes, physical properties, and other information as defined by the user. Accurate cut lists and component bills-of-materials can be created for piping systems, either directly from the assembly or on a Solid Edge drawing.
Solid Edge Piping Library
In addition to the baseline of piping components delivered with Solid Edge, the Solid Edge Piping Library is an optional add-on package containing an extensive selection of standard fittings.
